Gutter Accessories
There are a number of factors which can impede your gutters from functioning efficiently and properly. In addition to industry standard manufacturing and installation techniques, there are gutter accessories which are necessary in order to maintain optimal operation of your gutters and keep them working efficiently.
The accessories you will need for your gutters are, of course, specific to the individual circumstances and environmental conditions relative to your particular business or home. The professionals at DeMoss & GutterMan LLC would be happy to conduct a free analysis and give you expert advice as to what additional accessories you will need to protect your investment.
Below, you will find a short list of just some of the gutter accessories we can provide in order to ensure your gutters continue to operate properly.
Bird cages are made from diamond shaped expanded metal. They are made in different sizes to fit standard size 2×3 rectangular, 2×3 oval or 3″ round downspout outlets. The diamond shaped mesh holes provide an ideal filter for large leafy debris that can clog typical residential gutter systems. Strainers also provide debris protection for underground drainage systems. What makes this version versatile is that the expanded metal can be manually shaped to match the outlet profile – no matter whether it’s a 2×3 square, 2×3 oval, or 3″ plain round outlet.
Leaf Traps are funnel shaped metal devices that are placed towards the bottom of your downspouts. The leaf trap will collect any leaves and debris that make their way through the gutters and into the downspouts. The debris will fall over the mesh and the water from the rain will drain right through it.
Splash Blocks are an option when a downspout is not connected to an in-ground drainage system. In this case we would use an elbow at the very end of the downspout to slightly divert the water away from your home. During periods of prolonged or heavy rain, the volume of water moving through that system can be pretty high and the water moves quickly. You may choose to use a Splash Block so that the water is diverted further away from your home to prevent damage to your foundation. You can also position it so that the water is directed away from your garden or lawn. We offer a few different colors to help make this a stylish addition to any home.
Rain Chains provide an attractive alternative to a downspout. Their purpose is largely decorative. They make a water feature out of the transport of rainwater from the guttering downwards to a drain or storage container. Rain chains are typically either a series of metal cups with a hole in the bottom of each, linked together by a chain, or they can be simply links of chain that span vertically downward from the gutter outlet. Rain water run-off flows from a rootop gutter down through the rain chain.
Rain Quiet We have all heard stories of “Chinese water torture.” It didn’t involve rain gutters, but it probably should have. Trying to sleep, rest, or concentrate on work with the annoying sound of water dripping or trickling through your gutter downspouts can be maddening, even though the volume of the noise isn’t very high. Thankfully, we can install Rain Quiet to the bottom of your downspout. This product will help stop the dripping sound by absorbing the water before it hits the metal downspout!
Snow Guards are steel devices used to deter snow and ice from falling from one surface to a lower one. Once the air temperature begins to warm up and starts to melt the snow piled on top of the guard,it prevents snow and ice pack from avalanching off your metal roof. With no guard to stop it, there will be a large sheet of snow and ice sliding right off that smooth metal roof, causing possible damage to your home, property, people or anything else that happens to be below that roofline.
Our Gutter Cover System is made of heavy duty metal and will result in much less need for maintenance. No product on the market today will be completely maintenance free. However, this product WILL reduce the amount of maintenance needed. It also deters bees, wasps, and other pests from setting up home in your gutters. Installation requires NO HOLES in or under the shingles! Another plus is that they help prevent foundation problems caused by clogged gutters.
