At DeMoss & GutterMan LLC, moss control and removal is just one of our areas of expertise. Moss thrives in damp, shady areas. For this reason, Oregon has the perfect climate to grow moss. Allowing moss to go untreated can result in costly repairs. Take for example the moss probably growing on your roof right now. Once the moss is established, it acts like a sponge, soaking up and storing rainwater, eventually saturating the roof sheathing below. Let us prevent this!

Let's Talk About Moss Control

Why is Moss Control So Important?

Moss control is important, not only for aesthetics but for safety reasons. Safety should be at the top of all homeowners’ priority lists. Trying to walk on a moss covered sidewalk, especially if it's damp weather, is like trying to walk across ice. Think about friends or family members walking across that moss and how dangerous it can be. It’s a little frightening. Think of what could happen if someone slipped or fell, and was hurt on your property. Nobody wants that to happen!

Aesthetics, of course are important. Everyone wants their home to be picture perfect. Picture in your mind... the siding on your home, your walkways, retaining walls and any decorative pavers you may have are clean and beautiful. Then think about all of those things covered in green slimy moss. It's not a pretty picture! It's time to enjoy all the hard work you have put into making your property beautiful.

Protection of the value of your investment is another big reason to think about controlling the moss on your home. Allowing moss to go untreated for years can diminish the value of your investment. We work diligently to remove and control the moss on homes and properties to improve the value, or to simply make them more presentable.

Let DeMoss & GutterMan LLC do the same for you!

DeMossing Your Roof

When you choose the Professionals at DeMoss&GutterMan LLC to wash your roof, they will use no harsh chemicals, only water. Most roof "shampoos" and concrete cleaners contain phosphates, chlorine bleach, and other harsh chemicals. These chemicals can damage or kill vegetation, and of course they will end up polluting our waterways.

Our professional grade pressure washers have variable pressure controls, and will completely remove both the moss and the root bed. Typically, the results with our methods are instantaneous and complete. Algae, lichens, and moss are completely gone before we leave your property. Utilizing our methods allows us to completely clean your roof, while preserving the integrity of your shingles and without any damage to your landscaping from dangerous and damaging chemicals.

The DeMoss, or wash of your roof can last up to 5 years under optimal conditions. That of course depends on the location, orientation, and condition of your roof, as well as how much rain and shade the roof gets during those years. We offer Maintenance Contracts, such as Gutter Cleaning and moss treatments for each year in between washings. These treatments help to deter any moss that may have grown in the interim.
